General Fund

At Bayshore, we believe that God will provide for our financial needs through the faithful stewardship of His people.  Biblical Stewardship teaches us that:

  • God owns it all
  • God allows us to use the possessions He gives us for His purposes
  • God uses money to help us grow in our faith
  • Our souls will not be satisfied with the stuff that we own
  • As we are faithful stewards, His glory increases.

The General Fund Budget is the operating budget of the church.  Through receipts to the General Fund we pay the light bill, compensate the staff, support missionaries, purchase supplies for a growing ministry, provide programs for various age groups, maintain facilities and so on.

Sometimes this kind of giving doesn't seem very exciting.  However you must understand you are doing far more thaan keeping the lights on and paying for brick and mortar.  You are providing a place where people lives are being changed.

  • Children are hiding away the Word of God in their hearts.
  • Middle and High School students have a place to belong.  It is a safe place that is far diffent than what they experience during their week at school.
  • Families are being formed and strengthened.
  • Disciples are being made.

Giving is ultimately between you and God.  As a church we believe that.  And yet…

  • …giving is an act of worship, so we want to give you the opportunity to give in worship.
  • …giving was talked about by Jesus a lot, and so from time to time we must talk about it.
  • …Paul promoted giving when he visited all the churches he had planted and said, “This is the need.  Now you need to give to meet this need.”
  • …there was that time when Jesus took his disciples to the temple to sit and watch people give, taking careful notice of who gave what!

And so while giving is ultimately between you and God, I would be doing you a great disservice not to talk about it from time to time.

At Bayshore, we believe that God will provide for our financial needs through the faithful stewardship of His people.  Yes, God will provide.  He has done that for us over and over again during the 22+ years I have been at Bayshore.  It has always been exciting to see Him work.  He will provide through you.  My responsibility from time to time is to present the need, and hopefully the Spirit of God will prompt you to consider how He might use your faithful and generous stewardship to expand the effectiveness and the impact of our ministries on people who need to know Jesus.
